01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Just a short walk from Shimo-Akatsuka Station on the Tobu Tojo Line, stepping inside Cafe de Gii feels like leaving the neighborhood bustle behind. The interior is decorated in muted, calming tones, tastefully appointed with antique-style furniture and paintings that set a relaxed backdrop for a meal.
Lunches Served with Salad and Baguette
The midday menu focuses on Western-style (yoshoku) plates designed to leave diners well satisfied. Selections include basilico pasta with springy, toothsome noodles, pasta all'amatriciana, an Italian-style hamburg steak dressed in colorful vegetable sauce, and white fish paired with tartar sauce. Each lunch main comes accompanied by a fresh salad and sliced baguette, offering a classic and unhurried midday meal.
Salted Tarts and House-Made Dolci
The house-made cakes and desserts are well worth saving room for after lunch. Highlights include a lemon tart where a hint of salt sharpens the bright citrus acidity, alongside creamy tiramisu and silky panna cotta. Guests can add a dessert to their lunch, or linger over a cake set served with the house blend coffee or a freshly brewed pot of hot tea.
On pleasant days, terrace seating is also available, making it an inviting spot to sit outside and enjoy a quiet coffee on your own.
